Visiting Residence Artist at MUPA

Mr. Giovanni Ortega, Assistant Professor of Theater at Pomona College in USA gave three workshops at MUPA as Visiting Artist in Residence from May 23 to 24, 2017.

Academic and Cultural Partnership with Claremont Colleges and Yale-NUS College

The EnviroLab Asia at Claremont Colleges received a multi year grant from the Henry Luce Foundation in USA to develop researches and studies of Environmental issues in Asia. From May 17 to 22, the main investigators from Claremont Colleges in USA and Yale-NUS College in Singapore visited the Faculty of the Music and Performing Arts and Faculty of Marine Technology at Burapha University to discuss the future joint researches among the faculty members and students in USA, Singapore and Thailand . 

Dean of MUPA visited National Taiwan University of Arts

May 15, 2017

Mr. Sanchai Uaesilapa, Dean of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts was invited as a guest musician and speaker for the international musicology conference “Toward the way of preservation of development of traditional music of various countries – From the angle of world music development” hosted by the Department of Chinese Music at National Taiwan University of Arts from May 16 to 19, 2017. During his stay, he performed for the concert and presented his paper.

Guest Professorship at Taipei National University of the Arts

From April 10 to 27, Mr. Sanchai Uaesilapa and Mr. Phongsathorn Sutham was invited to give a three-week workshop at the Department of Traditional Music at Taipei National University of the Arts as Guest Professors. They also gave a concert of Thai Classical Music at TNUA with the students on April 27, 2017.

Guest Appearances in South Korea

April 13, 2017

Dr. Koji Nakano visited South Korea as a guest composer, where he gave lectures at Pai Chai University in Daejoen (April 11 and 12), and at the Department of Korean Music of Seoul National University(April 13), as well as a composition master class at Jeju National University (April 17). He also attended the world premiere of his “Spring Breathes V” performed by Gamin and ARZ Ensemble at the National Gugak Center in Seoul on April 14, 2017

 

“Asian Wings – Leaders’ Summit for Higher Education in Arts” in Taiwan

December 18, 2016

Mr. Sanchai Uaesilapa, Dean of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Burapha University attended the “Asian Wings – Leaders’ Summit for Higher Education in Arts” at Taipei National University of the Arts to give a presentation with Dr. Pichai Sonchaeng from December 19 to 21, 2016.
