Mr. Santi Udomstri and Mr. Kittipan Chittep, faculty members of Thai Classical Music at MUPA were invited to give a series of lectures, workshops and a mini-concert with the students of Department of Traditional Music at Taipei National University of Arts in Taiwan from November 28th to December 1st, 2016.
Guest Artists at Asia Culture Center in Gwangju, South Korea

Dr. Koji Nakano, and Mr. Santi Udomsri and Thai Classical music student at MUPA Paradorn Athipattayawong were invited as guest artists for the ACC’s 1st Music and Performing Arts International from November 24 to 27, 2016. Santi and Paradorn gave the world premiere of Dr. Nakano’s “Spring Breathes III” with conductor Sharon Chao and the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. Dr. Nakano also served as one of international juries for the young composers workshop.
Academic and Cultural Exchanges with Seoul National University

From November 15 to 20, Dr. Koji Nakano, Mr. Santi Udomsri and Ms. Visaka Saeui, as well as five students majoring Thai Classical Music at MUPA were invited for exchange lectures, workshops and concerts hosted by the Department of Korean Music at Seoul National University in South Korea to celebrate the university’s 70th Anniversary.
Scripps Erma Taylor O’Brien Distinguished Visiting Professorship

From October 21 to November 5, 2016, Dr. Koji Nakano was appointed to be the Scripps Erma Taylor O’Brien Distinguished Visiting Professor at Scripps College in USA. During his residency, he gave a series of lectures and workshops at the Claremont Colleges, and attended the pre-talk and world premiere of his “Imagined Sceneries.”
